Migraine is a variety of headache that commonly occurs in the 2nd or 3rd decade of life. It is usually characterised by headache starting on one side sometimes spreading to the other side also. It is usually a throbbing type of headache commonly occurring in the sides of the head or back of the head which recurs over a period of time.
It may be associated with an aura and also may be associated with blurring of vision, hearing difficulty and vomiting or nausea.
Some people consider these headaches to be a result of lifestyle changes and daily activities.
The diagnosis of this problem is done by detailed history and it can be confirmed by a normal brain scan.
It is treated with medications for a period of about a year along with lifestyle changes, exercise, yoga and meditation.
